We first opened in 2012 in Bayside, New York. Inspired by Bayside’s nearby thoroughfare Bell Boulevard, Coach Dom originally branded his facility as “BELL” and offered a range of programs incorporating the brand, including the Bayside BarBELL Strength and Olympic Lifting program, the BELLe of Bayside fitness competition (later renamed BELLe of the Boroughs), and a CrossFit program. He also created our iconic slanted-handle kettlebell logo.

After just a year in Bayside, the facility had grown so large in membership that we relocated to a larger space in Long Island City. Much to our gratification, a very high percentage of our customers followed. In the following years, the BELL brand flourished and gained a reputation throughout the fitness world, especially in the CrossFit and strongman communities, as a welcoming and inclusive place to exercise.

In September 2017, we moved to our largest location yet—the present day Dutch Kills Fitness, which is named for the historic neighborhood where it is located. While embracing our new locale, we continue to honor our roots offering specialty BELL-branded products and services including BarBELL Technique Class, Gymnastics Specialty Class, Power Hour, and Private Small Group Training.

And, of course, we still fly the kettleBELL flag high.

BarBELL Technique Class

This program rotates session to session between various progressions of the clean and snatch.  It will focus on the athlete's set-up and execution providing all participants with real time feedback and supervision as they perform class assigned drills to make them a more efficient lifter.

Gymnastics Specialty Class

This program rotates session to session between various gymnastic movements often building upon progressions learned in a previous class.  It will focus on introducing the athlete to scale progressions designed to help each individual eventually accomplish movements as prescribed.  All participants will received real time feedback and supervision as they perform class assigned drills.

Power Hour

This program will rotate month to month between the various power lifts focusing on lift variations, lift mechanics, flexibility requirements, common faults, and proper incorporation of gear.  Each session will include practice under load and provide all participants with real time feedback and supervision as they perform class assigned drills to make them a more efficient lifter.

Private Group Sessions
